Scientific Name:  Boehlkea fredcochui

An ideal beginners fish.  The BlueTetra is robust and happily has a range of other species it will cohabit with.  Ideally recommended for the beginner Aquarist.
Origin ' Colombia and Brazil , Size 5 cm Blue Tetras are a shoaling species, and best kept in larger  numbers for best results we suggest keeping at least 6 in a shoal Minimum Ideally slightly acidic water conditions are provided between 6.5pH - 7pH however they will happily live in conditions ranging up to pH of 7.5 or higher. Temperatures should range between 24-26°C.Blue Tetra should be fed a variety of flake, frozen, freeze dried and live foods for a varied diet.
 Being Omnivores they will happily accept a wide range of foods.Blue Tetra are peaceful community fish and are generally accepeted by a wide range of tank mates. Females will exhibit a much deeper body, especially when carrying eggs. Can happily be bred in captivity, however care must be taken with eggs and fry as no parental care is provided.
